Buckeyes Close on Ducks
83 to 76

The final score did not show how close and entertaining this game was as the Ducks showed the Big Ten favorites how tough it is to come and play on Mac Court.

We are off and running and this was just the first game of this remarkable season!

Best of College Basketball

Welcome to Our Basketball World!
Starring the Best College Players and Coaches of the Last 70 Years

Don't Miss the Fun! Our "best of" College Basketball League will Run Concurrent to the 2024-2025 Season

If you love college basketball like we do, you’ve imagined a college team made up of the best players from each college in history, coached by the most influential person in team history.  We have done just that and are running our own games, conferences and tournaments at the same time as today’s season.

Other sports, like football, can be judged on their record. Historical horse racing has a long history of comparing stats. We are analyzing all programs not only by wins and losses, but also tournament appearances, conference titles and poll ratings.

The Best of College Basketball Tournament features the 300 most relevant programs to basketball nationally, based on their history, both regular season and in championships. We looked at every college program that has existed and determined which players and coaches were the best statistically as individuals and on teams.

Looking at the teams over the years, we chose the most influential coach who had the most impact over 70 years of play.

We looked at every college program established and picked the players with the best stats and record for each position and have starters and backups for each slot. We only considered players for a team if that college was their final program.

Each team has 5 starters and 5 backups for Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard and Point Guard. We assigned them a college year based on what two decades they came from between 1939 and 2010.

Each conference is made up of the top 8 to 12 teams relevant to that conferences’ history. We have 31 conferences and 4 independent teams.

We assigned teams to conferences based on historical relevance, either length of time on the conference or overall impact on the conference.

In a regular season, each team has 28 games. We used the usual percentage of conference games vs. outside games to schedule the games in weeks 1-16. The winners of those games will be determined based on our equations. We take 14 data points into account including each team’s win-loss record, tournament appearances, conference championships, poll ratings and ten other stats.

The regular seasons scores are based on the program historic stats and impact.

We have designed a different way of scoring tournaments based on individual scores for each player (based on statistical analysis of individual stats and honors received) plus additional scores for the coaches. Each player and coach is ranked, and gets stats assigned based on the games played in the regular season!

We are excited to run the numbers each week, because we have no idea which teams will end up in the final sixteen, or the final four.
